The Ferrari Company was founded in Modena, Italy by Enzo Ferrari. Enzo worked for several well-known sports car firms before establishing his own firm in 1939. In 1945, Enzo completed the Ferrari 125S, the first car to carry the Ferrari name. The car’s V12 engine gave it the versatility for which modern Ferrari cars are renowned. During the 1960’s, Ferrari expanded its financial options, becoming a Limited Liability Company in 1960 and signing an agreement with the Fiat Group in 1969. Enzo passed away on August 14, 1988, leaving the running of the exotic luxury car firm to his son, Piero Ferrari, and a team of colleagues. At present, Ferrari manufactures all its cars at its plant in Maranello, continuing the Ferrari tradition of crafting high performance engines, sleek designs, luxurious interior amenities, and additional high-end features.
