The Cadillac Company was founded in Detroit in 1902. The firm quickly distinguished itself by crafting luxury cars with interchangeable precision parts, laying the foundation for mass automobile production. In the 20’s, Cadillac produced the LaSalle convertible coup – a vehicle with elegant, flowing lines and chrome-plated fixtures – and, in the 30’s, the world’s first V-type 16-cylinder engine in a passenger car – resulting in an unbelievably smooth, quiet ride. The Cadillac name soon became equated with beauty, luxury, and sophistication. In the decades after World War I, Cadillac introduced a number of technological and stylistic features, including the iconic tail fin, standard power steering, self-adjusting brakes, air bags, and catalytic converters, to name a few. By the late 90’s, Cadillac was distributing to 40 countries around the globe. In 2000, the firm celebrated its 100-year anniversary by producing several new and award-winning luxury cars, many of which are available through Los Angeles Prestige.
